Tuition
Tech Tutor & Troubleshooter
Hi, my name is John Walker. I’m a freelance IT consultant and I enjoy helping people get the most out of whatever computers or gadgets they use at home, or at work.
If you need to learn more about your computer, the main aim of any tuition I give is to help you become a more independent and confident user. So, if you need to know how to use Photoshop or Microsoft Office, I will be happy to get you started by helping you to learn while you work on your own projects and files. And first time computer users I can also guide so that you learn enough to begin to teach yourself with a growing confidence.
It doesn’t matter if you are using a Mac or PC, an Android Tablet or an iPad. It may be the family computer, or one of hundreds in an office network; either way if you want to get along with it, I am happy to help you. As well as tuition, other services are available, including troubleshooting, upgrades, repair, and web site design.
I give phone support, and can connect directly with your computer* over the internet, provided it has an internet connection. So support can be given almost wherever you are, even if you are working away from home, perhaps abroad. I have clients in different parts of the world. It doesn’t matter as long as you have a reasonable connection. With your permission I can see exactly what you see on the screen and help by a quick bitesize tutorial, or by fixing a more in-depth problem.
If you are in the region of the Vale of White Horse I can visit you at home or office to help you. You can contact me using the Contact Me box to the right of this web page. Or phone me on 07525 368812.
I also offer help via the PCIQ website. I would recommend it if you live elsewhere in the UK, and you know you are going to need a home or office visit to sort your computer out.
NewTechWiz.co.uk is a website belonging to my Macwiz partnership, advertised locally to bring one-to-one support to domestic and small business users. I also offer Mac services at http://macwiz.co.uk.
*Unfortunately it is not at the moment possible to connect remotely to an iPad or Android tablet to share its screen.
